17 Catalan companies at FETEN, the European Performing Arts Fair for Boys and Girls in Gijón

Once again family theatre created in Catalonia is to be well represented at the European Performing Arts Fair for Boys and Girls, FETEN. A total of 17 Catalan companies will be taking part in the 26th edition of the fair held in Gijón from 12 to 17 February.

The shows by Catalan companies and artists at the show are as follows:

Afónix Producciones & Pep López (Hay un dragón en mi bañera), Centre de Titelles de Lleida (El pequeño piano), Cia. Fèlix Brunet (Bicicadabra), Cia. Passabarret (Taller de circo. La Berta), Companyia de comediants La Baldufa (Safari), CQP Produccions ‐ GAAC (Juegos trastocados), Fes‐t’ho com vulguis (Manos), Galiot Teatre (Carpa Mundo Títere), Guillem Albà & La Marabunta (Marabunta), Holoqué (L’oníric món de DINS), La Pera Llimonera (Lágrimas de cocodrilo), LaDinamo (Music on cycles), Mag Lari (Dolce Vita!), Ponten Pie (Loo), PSiRC (Acrometria), Teatro Labú (Bianco), and Zum Zum Teatre (La gallina de los huevos de oro).

Of the 17 companies, Mag Lari (Dolce Vita!), Teatro Labú (Bianco) and Zum Zum Teatre (La gallina de los huevos de oro) will be putting on shows for the first time. Along with the companies on the programme, the following companies will be at FETEN 2017: Passabarret, Galiot Teatre and CQP Produccions – GAAC who will be showing their games and facilities (Taller de circo La Berta, Carpa Mundo Títere and Juegos Trastocados, respectively) in the complementary activities section.

FETEN will feature around 200 puppet, circus, dance, gestural theatre and magic shows, along with street theatre and more by 77 companies. In addition to the 17 Catalan companies there will be 52 from Spain and 8 from Argentina, Belgium, Italy, France, Portugal, Norway and the Czech Republic.

The fair will bring together some 700 professionals, mostly from Spain, but also from Europe and Latin America. It is not only an exchange market and showcase for the lasted trends in the performing arts, but offers a programme of activities aimed exclusively at industry professionals. So, for the second year running, accredited professionals can attend an international gathering on Wednesday 15 February to discuss the present and future of the performing arts for children.

The Mostra d’Igualada presents its 2017 edition at FETEN

While at FETEN, the Mostra's art director, Pep Farrés, will take the opportunity to present the 2017 edition of the Children’s & Youth Theatre Festival of Igualada. The presentation takes place at 2.00 pm on Tuesday 14 February, in Hotel Begoña in Gijón.

Farrés will outline the programme for La Mostra 2017, a strategic market for Catalan children's and youth theatre, which is opening up to the Spanish and international markets.
