The Ministry of Culture and Viladecans City Council have organized the third edition of "Espai de Carrer", an event to encourage the hiring of street arts

The Catalan Ministry of Culture, through the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies’ Market Development Department, and the Viladecans City Council, in partnership with the Diputació de Barcelona, have organized the event “Espai de Carrer” that will take place on 7th March at the Cubic in Viladecans.

“Espai de Carrer” is primarily aimed at culture managers from Catalan city councils and festivals and feasts programmers.

The main objectives of this event are to promote the programming of street arts performances and facilitate the connection between companies, municipal specialists and programmers.

More than 160 professionals are expected to attend the event (17% more compared to the 2016 edition). Although the event is designed for the Catalan market, four potential buyers from Valencian Comunity will also attend this edition.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see 20 minutes performances by 12 street arts companies (theatre, dance, circus, installations, puppets, musical, clown ...) selected among 90 received proposals.

The companies performing at “Espai de Carrer” 2017 are the following:

All the shows presented in “Espai de Carrer” (with the exception of installations) will be part of Programa.cat allowing municipal specialists and programmers to hire street arts companies at attractive prices. Programa.cat is a Ministry of Culture’s platform with the aime of supporting local programmes of performing arts and music to increase the activity of the sectors and the quality of local programmes.

"Espai de Carrer" has also the support of the Festival Internacional de Teatre i Animació Al Carrer de Viladecans, the Professionals' Association of Circus of Catalonia (APCC), the Associació Professional de Teatre per a Tots Públics (TTP), the Association of Dance Professionals in Catalonia (APdC) and the Association of Professional Dance Companies of Catalonia (ACPDC), and the complicity of the platform Arts de Carrer.
