The Ministry of Culture and Viladecans City Council have organized the fourth edition of "Espai de Carrer", an event to encourage the hiring of street arts

The Catalan Ministry of Culture, through the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies’ Market Development Department, and the Viladecans City Council and the Festival Internacional de Teatre i Animació Al Carrer de Viladecans have organized the event “Espai de Carrer” that will take place on 27th February at the Cubic in Viladecans.

“Espai de Carrer” has the aim to foster the hiring of street arts performances and facilitate the connection between companies, culture managers from Catalan city councils and festivals and private feasts programmers.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see 12 street arts performances (theatre, dance, circus, installations, puppets, musical, clown …) of 20 minutes duration. The companies performing at the fourth edition of ‘Espai de Carrer’ are the following:

Moreover, the organisation invites attendees to a meal together with the artists and other programmers and technicians. In addition, a booklet with all the information of the selected companies will be available.

All the shows presented in “Espai de Carrer” (with the exception of installations) can also benefit of Programa.cat, a Ministry of Culture’s platform with the aim of supporting local programmes of performing arts and music to increase the activity of the sectors and the quality of local programmes. During 2017, 188 Catalan local councils have taken benefit of Programa.cat for 1.570 activities of their professional programs of street arts and music.

"Espai de Carrer" has also the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, the Professionals' Association of Circus of Catalonia (APCC), the Associació Professional de Teatre per a Tots Públics (TTP), the Association of Dance Professionals in Catalonia (APdC) and the Association of Professional Dance Companies of Catalonia (ACPDC), and the complicity of the platform Arts de Carrer.
