The Ministry of Culture’s Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) will be attending the third edition of Barcelona Games World (BGW), to be held from 29 November to 2 December, with a stand featuring 33 Catalan companies. Following the two previous, highly successful editions, the Catalan stand organised by the ICEC, under its international brand Catalan Arts - Video Games, is making 204m² available to Catalan companies to present their games to professional visitors and the general public, hold business meetings and network with professionals from other countries.

The following 33 companies will be represented at the Catalan stand: 2Awesome Studio, 3D2 Entertainment, Altered Matter, Anarkade, Anticto Estudi Binari, ANCLA, Barspin Studios, Black Alligator Games, Chloroplast Games, Dolores Entertainment, Drop Of Pixel, Grimorio of Games, HeroBeat Studios, Ivanovich Games, Jandusoft SL, Kaneda Games, Last Chicken Games, Mango Protocol, Nape Games, Oxiab Game Studio, Petoons, PlayStark Games, SandBloom Studio, Sekg, Shadow Company Games, Sunforge Interactive, Titutitech, TrogloBytes Games, Undercoders, Unfinished Pixel, VirtualAge, zeeWave Sound and Zink Media Studio.

In addition, the Catalan companies Dark Curry, Distorsion Games, Garage 51, Kendaigames, Scarecrow Studio, and The Game Forge will have their own stands at Barcelona Games World.

To optimise Catalan companies' presence at the event, the ICEC, through the Business Development Service (SDE) and the Digital Culture Area, will hold three training sessions during the weeks leading up to Barcelona Games World for developers, producers, reporting officers, managers and any other professionals in the video game industry who have undertaken to write up and carry out their study's marketing and business plans or sell their project to investors and publishers.

A major new feature for the professional sector is the Games Startup Competition, organised jointly by Barcelona Games World and GameBCN, the video game incubator promoted by the ICEC, the Culture Institute of Barcelona (ICUB) and Canòdrom Creative Research Park. A panel of experts will pick the 12 winning international projects, each of which will be awarded a stand in the lounge's professional area as well as access to the networking and funding programme. To be eligible, projects must fall into one of the following categories: mobile games, PC games, console games and virtual experiences.

To visit the stand, request material or contact any of the participating companies, send an email to: internacional.icec@gencat.cat or go to the Catalan Arts – Government of Catalonia stand (C327) at BGW.
