The European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP) has the aim of facilitating the movement and signing of European groups at festivals around the continent. Currently more than 100 festivals from 44 countries participate. Currently more than 100 festivals from 44 countries participate, including Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, Primavera Sound and VIDA festival.

ETEP member festivals attending Eurosonic receive economic incentives to hire at least one act to perform at each edition (from a country other than the one where the festival is held). This system is supported by the European Union, the EBU radio broadcasters and the European festival association YOUROPE.

ETEP uses as platform the Eurosonic Noorderslag, one of the most influential festivals and a leading professional meeting place for indie and pop-rock music taking place in Groningen (Netherlands), to showcase the bands and gather the ETEP festivals.
