Catalan Arts is promoting a Catalan showcase at Taiwan’s LUCfest

Anna Andreu, Las Migas and Matthew McDaid & The last minute soldiers will be on screen at the Chuang Mei Theater in Taiwan, as well as on streaming, as part of LUCfest International program.

On November 29th LUCfest music festival will host a virtual showcase by Catalan artists Anna Andreu, Las Migas and Matthew McDaid & The last minute soldiers presented by Catalan Arts, the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) brand for the International promotion of Catalan companies. The showcase will include a curated selection of songs recorded with Catalan Arts-ICEC support at Mercat de Música Viva de Vic and at Primavera Pro 2020.

Open to general and professional audiences, LUCfest is the first and only music showcase festival in Taiwan and this year is celebrating its 4th edition, from November 27th to 29th, in a hybrid format. Live concerts open to audiences will coexist with virtual showcases on streaming and/or cinema screens. Also networking opportunities, project presentations and online conferences will take place.

Anna Andreu, Las Migas and Matthew McDaid & The last minute soldiers’ concerts will be part of LUCfest program section Big Screen at Tainan City Chuang Mei Theater. The attending audience will enjoy the film in the cinema and professionals would be able to follow the screening on the festival’s platform as well. Catalan Arts will present the Catalan scene on a brief introduction before the showcase and on a digital campaign address to professionals from Taiwan and internationally.

The Catalan showcase in Taiwan is a follow-up of the great experience at Global Music Match. A network to promote artists in new territories, develop social media skills and connect musicians globally, as a unique response to the Covid-19 limitations, with the support of 14 music export offices from all over the world, being Catalan Arts amongst them.

In the current situation, digital or hybrid initiatives like Big Screen are a good opportunity to continue presenting Catalan talent in territories as far as Taiwan and still developing a network of professional relations that in the near future will open new markets and will be a chance for bookings and international touring. Other International organizations taking part in this hybrid edition of LUCfest are: Centre National de la Musique (France), East Coast Music Association (Canada), Focus Wales, Iceland Airwaves, Italia Music Export, Showcase Scotland Expo, and Zandari Festa (Korea).
