Catalan Arts to take part in Before Babel Music XP in France

Catalan Arts will take part in the Before Babel Music XP, two days of debates, round tables and conferences in the music sector, which will take place at the “Dock des Suds” in Marseille (France) on 26 and 27 November.

This event prior to the next edition of Babel Music XP (March 25-27, 2021) marks the start of the new stage of the fair. After a two-year interruption, Babel Music XP takes over from what had been Babel Med Music, with a new team and format but with the same essence. Finally, Before Babel Music XP, because of the health pandemic, will not be able to take place in person and will be 100% online.

The delegate of The Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) – Catalan Arts in Paris, Eva Colom, will participate, on Friday 27 November at 16:00, in the round table “Etat des lieux post-crise Covid et perspectives pour les marchés internationaux” on the long-term impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on music professionals around the world. The round table will be attended by participants from three continents to analyze how each of the territories have responded to the same context. Also participating will be Patrick De Groote (Forum of Worldwide Music Festivals, The Netherlands), Brahim El Mazned (Visa for Music, Morocco), Danielle Lefebvre (Agència Danielle Lefebvre, Canada), Claire Metais (Music in Africa, South Africa), Olivier Rey (Babel Music XP, France) and Christine Semba (Womex, Germany).

During its last edition in 2017, Babel Med Music brought together 2,000 professionals, 150 stands representing 750 entities from 70 countries. In addition to an artistic program with 30 showcases of artist from 22 countries for a total of 15,500 spectators and media coverage of 160 French and international journalists.

Access to the digital format of Before Babel Music XP is reserved exclusively for professionals and media in the sector. To virtually attend, all you must do is register for free on the Before Babel Music XP website.
