Relive the Professional Day for Chamber Music Groups

With the aim of contributing to the promotion of chamber formations in Catalonia, the Professional Day for Chamber Music Groups brought together on October 6, 2020 in L’Atlàntida de Vic four chamber formations to show off their talent to programmers and professionals in the classical music sector.

The conference is organized by the Department of Culture though the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC)- Catalan Arts, in collaboration with the Institute Ramon Llull, the Quartet Casals, L’Atlàntida and the Deputation of Barcelona.

Kebyart Ensemble

Kebyart has become one of the most prominent groups of its generation, which has been recognized in the form of awards in prestigious competitions such as the Orpheus Chamber Music Competition, El Primer Palau and the BBVA Music Prize, among others.

The main European concert halls, led by the Palau de la Música Catalana and L’Auditori, have selected the group to be ECHO Rising Stars during the 2021-22 season. This will make its debut in prestigious auditoriums and festivals such as Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie de Paris, Musikverein in Vienna and the Festspielhaus Baden Baden, among others.

They are members of the European Chamber Music Academy and currently reside in Basel where they continue their education.

His artistic line is a clear commitment in three directions: the vindication of the original repertoire, the commitment to the new creation and the revision of works by other groups through transcriptions.

Quartet Atenea

Formed in 2017, the Quartet Atenea was born under the mastery of the Quartet Casals with the aim of exploring, discovering and bringing to life the richness of the repertoire written by this group. A timeless repertoire and legacy of reference of music. The very young members of the Athena Quartet aim to keep this universal legacy alive.

The Quartet has performed all over the country, such as the Barcelona Auditorium, L’Atlàntida de Vic, the Teatre Grec, the Podium de Matadepera, as well as in several European cities, such as the auditorium of the Ràdio of Ginebra, the Festival Wissembourg International Music. The Quartet has won the 1st Prize at the 2019 DeltaChamber music competition which will allow them to perform at the 2021 festival.

This season the Atenea Quartet will collaborate with artists such as the Eliot Quartet, Oscar Alabau, Noelia Rodiles, Jorge Nava, Sara Etelävuori among others. They are currently part of the Catalog of Musical Youths of Catalonia and Spain that allows them to tour the Spanish territory.

Suet Sosnowska – Garcías

Zuzanna Sosnowska, cello Magí Garcías Frau, piano

The international duet formed by the cellist Zuzanna Sosnowska (Poland) and the pianist Magí Garcías (Mallorca) was born in 2017 in the prestigious Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, where they finish their master's studies with the maximum distinction in Chamber Music.

They have performed as a stable in many European cities and in venues such as the Sony Auditorium in Madrid, the Schloss-Schletau in Annaberg, the Feast of the FürstenHaus in Weimar and the Aula Konzertowa of the ZSM in Poland.

In 2019 they were awarded the 1st prize of the renowned Salieri-Zinetti International Chamber Music Competition (2019) and the special prize “Cicerone & Art” of the Fondazione Cattolica Assicurazioni.

Trio Pedrell

Christian Torres, violin Òscar Alabau, cello Jordi Humet, piano

The members of the Trio Pedrell met at the ESMUC and in 2012 began this training with which they carry out in-depth work in the repertoire for piano trio, by authors from Classicism to the present day , with a special preference for the musical heritage of Catalonia and Spain.

His first album is dedicated to Felip Pedrell and Robert Gerhard; a work of recovery and edition of works that was awarded the Enderrock Prize for Criticism for Best Classical Album 2018.

Trio Pedrell has moved from its beginnings in three areas: academic training, participation in national and international competitions and concert activity that has led them to perform on numerous local and international stages.
