Nineteen Catalan companies to perform at Gijón's FETEN, the European Performing Arts Fair for Boys and Girls

 

  • Catalonia and Asturias will take the lead in terms of Spanish participation at FETEN's 29th edition, set to take place from 9 to 14 February in Gijón.
  • Mostra Igualada Youth Theatre Festival will be at FETEN to present its 2020 programme.

 

Catalan family theatre will once again be well represented at FETEN, the European Performing Arts Fair for Boys and Girls. A total of 19 Catalan companies will be at the 29th edition of the fair, which will take place in Gijón, Asturias, from 9 to 14 February.

The shows by Catalan companies and artists at the fair are as follows: Piratas y otros bichos by Afònix Produccions & Pep López; Adoro by Alta Gama; Jungla by Big Bouncers; Juego de Sillas by Cal Teatre; ¿Dónde vas, Moby Dick?” by Centre de Titelles de Lleida; Formidable by Charlie Mag; La Fresca by Anna Confetti; La Carpa Invisible del Sr. Trifelli by Passabarret; Italino Grand Hotel” by La Tal; Bubble” by El Lado Oscuro de las Flores; La cajita by Holoqué; KL’AA by Inspira Teatre; Alma by LaBú Teatre; Un Teatro en el Jardín by Minimons; Retablos mecánicos by Peus de porc; Gran Reserva by Rhum & Cia.; Oops! by Teatre Mòbil; L’atelier by Toc de fusta; Mil pedazos by Zipit Company.

Over the course of six days, FETEN will welcome a total of 90 companies, hand-picked from over 850 proposals, who will put on 200 performances. Seventeen of the chosen companies will be taking part for the very first time. Beyond the 19 Catalan companies, the programme will be rounded off with performances from other countries and other regions in Spain. The eight foreign companies are from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya, France, Italy, the UK and Belgium.

FETEN is a leading performing arts fair held each year to foster business opportunities for professionals, programmers and creators engaged in youth theatre in Spain. Roughly 700 professionals attend the yearly event.

Mostra Igualada Youth Theatre Festival to present its 2020 programme at FETEN

The Mostra Igualada organisers, led by their new artistic director, Ramon Giné, will be at FETEN to give attendees a look at the programme and professional activities they have in mind for the upcoming season. This strategic youth theatre showcase in Catalonia, whose 31st edition takes place this year from 26 to 29 March, is now opening itself up to the Spanish and international markets. The presentation will take place at Hotel Begoña, Gijón, at 2 pm on Thursday 13 February.
