  • Professionals from the Catalan cultural sphere in South Korea this autumn coinciding with the PAMS and other dance, music and street arts festivals

For the first time, Catalonia will have an institutional stand at the Performing Arts Market in Seoul (PAMS), provided by the Ministry of Culture, through the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC), under its internationalisation brand Catalan Arts, at which 20 entities from the Catalan performing arts and music sector will be represented.

The PAMS, which will take place from 14 to 19 October, is organised by the Korean Arts Management Service (KAMS) with the support of the South Korea Ministry of Culture. Considered one of the foremost meetings of the contemporary performing arts sector in Asia, and an opportunity to network with professionals from all over the world, the PAMS has been held annually since 2005 and brings together more than 2,500 delegates.

The Catalonia stand is a work space open to industry professionals designed so that they can develop business meetings, meet up with their foreign counterparts and provide exposure for the variety and vitality of the Catalan scene. Under the Catalan Arts brand the Ministry of Culture aims to boost professional activity in the world of live arts in Catalonia by providing a comprehensive image of the industry. The stand (B2 27-28) will host representatives from the following 19 companies and organisations, among which are three from Catalonia's strategic markets:

The internationalisation of Catalan cultural companies

The Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) is a públic institution that looks after the development and the consolidation of the Catalan creative sectors as an uplift for its professionalisation. In the frame of the Government of Catalonia’s Ministry of Culture, ICEC advises and accompanies Catalan companies in their development process in several sectors such as: performing arts, visual arts, audiovisual, books, music and digital culture.

Catalan Arts is the brand used by ICEC for international promotion of Catalan companies. Via ICEC’s European offices network (Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, London and Paris) we work on a variety of lines of action to connect, mentor and support creative companies in their international journey. To this end, with Catalan Arts we strengthen the presence of Catalan companies and creative works at international fairs and key professional events. We also offer all kinds of useful materials and resources to professionals based in Catalonia seeking to develop their projects internationally, as well as to professionals from other countries looking for artistic productions and willing to establish contact with their creators and promoters.
